Ferndale Foods & Sainsburys Stores are celebrating winning 'Best Ready Meal 2009' at the Supermeat Awards Dinner held in London in July. The award was given for the newly developed 'Green Thai Curry Ready Meal' that is part of Sainsbury's flagship 'Fresh & Tasty' naturally healthy ready meal range. Not only does the meal truly live up to its name, but the new clear packaging does away with 'serving suggestion photographs' and allows consumers to see exactly what they are buying - an appetising, healthy & balanced meal, while also reducing packaging weight by 40% in line with Sainsbury environmental objectives. The award was collected in person by Adam Gibb (Sainsbury Buyer) and Donna Worsley (Ferndale Foods NPD Manager). Sarah Ingram (Sainsbury Technical Manager) and Helen Gotts (Ferndale Foods NPD) who together launched the range of meals were both 'guests of honour' on the Ferndale Foods table at the dinner.
